Mark brings a rich set of design experiences to Oilpress! He began his career in the world of theater where, in collaboration with various directors and designers, he designed sets for the Long Beach Opera, the San Jose Opera and the San Francisco Opera Center. The National Endowment for the Arts and Theater Communications Group recognized him twice as one of six finalists in competition for their national fellowship award in stage design. While designing for the stage, Mark taught theater and environmental design courses at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, the University of California at Davis and the University of California at Santa Cruz.
 
In 1996 Mark redirected his talents into the field of graphic design. He worked for several years in Washington D.C., where he designed Web sites, interactive CD-ROMs, catalogs and other printed communications in support of educational and lending institutions. In 2000 he returned to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue work as a freelance designer, and in 2004 co-founded Oilpress! with his creative partner and wife, Katherine Oehlschlager. Mark serves as co–Creative Director at Oilpress!, and oversees new business development for the company.
 
Mark holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Theater from the University of California at San Diego, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design from the University of California at Davis.
 
 

 
Katherine brings more than ten years of design, art direction and project management experience to Oilpress!. Having worked in
design and advertising firms in the San Francisco Bay Area and in
the greater Washington D.C. area, she has overseen the creation
of brand identity systems, interactive media and a wide variety of printed communications, including brochures, catalogs, magazines, instruction manuals, newsletters, and annual reports.
 
Katherine has an extremely sharp eye for the finer aspects of typography and composition. She is a champion for the values of craftsmanship and attention to detail. As a result, Katherine sets an extremely high standard of executional excellence within the office and our work benefits from that. Katherine serves as co–Creative Director at Oilpress!, and oversees project management for the company.
 
Katherine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design from the University of California at Davis.
